CS Final 877834810801802830697

If we compare the cut-off marks of 2015 IAS exam with earlier two years,  we can see that marks scored by the last qualified candidate are higher this year than the previous two years. Also the minimum difference between marks of General category candidates and reserved category candidates is 40 out of total 2025 marks in the Mains exam.

UPSC has also disclosed the marks secured by all successful candidates in Mains as well as Interview and can be downloaded from here.

In the 2015 Civil Services exam, 22 year old Tina Dabi topped the exam. She belongs to SC category and this is the first time that a candidate belonging to SC category has topped the IAS exam and that too a female candidate.

She secured 868 marks in Mains and 195 marks in the Personality Test (Interview) which is quite commendable.

There was some unseemly controversy created by someone who claimed that Ms Dabi had snatched a seat from the General category. Here it needs to be clarified that since Ms Dabi qualified Prelims in the SC category as her marks (96.66) were less than the cut-off for the General category (107.34), she got selected against the SC quota in the IAS even though she topped the Mains exam.

NOTE: Candidates who are going to attempt this year’s Prelims can enroll for IAS Kracker’s Online Test Series before enrollment closes.
